Boot Camp

Every Sunday I go off to work early in the morning and return home in the afternoon to usually three sleeping boys and a pile of dirty dirt dirt stained clothes. When I inquire about the days events I am always given the same answer "You have no idea - we went nuts."  Sometimes I am texted short videos of Kai jumping or climbing from great heights, swinging from monkey bars, or navigating his way through terrain that in my mind can not exist in Tokyo, so naturally trying to figure out what goes on during these super adventures with Dad has become a bit of an undercover mission for me. It was not until very recently I was allowed to accompany them on one of these highly guarded Sunday experiences. I was simply told we were going to an athletic park - so I'm thinking field, possible jungle gym play/fitness equipment -what's the big deal. I take the kids to the parks all the time what could be so different. Here is what apparently "Real Dudes" do- cause this is "How They Roll."  May I present to you 'A Japanese Athletic Park' or as we Americans might like to call it Boot Camp:
Literally swinging his way through the forest.
Climbing up a crazy ladder ramp to have the pleasure of zipping down a slide made out of a tarp.
Sneaking onto big kid equipment and proving he's just as capable.
The Bean - complete with a serious looking dirt stained facial tattoo.
Shocked that he could even pull something so heavy.
Always enjoying the ride.
Once again proving he can keep up with the big dogs.  Cheers to Dad for challenging them every step of the way! Now that the mystery has been solved I think I'll most likely be sticking to my coffee sipping mommy grounds.
